Art Pilgrimage Continues

The last part of my pilgrimage took me to Bilbao, then Rotterdam, and finally to Amsterdam. In Bilbao I re-visited the Azkuna Zentroa which hosted the exhibition “Science Friction” in 2022. Rotterdam was where I could attend an evening with Donna Haraway at the Neiuwe Instituut. And finally, Amsterdam: the home of Rembrandt, one of the greatest artist of Western Europe. Each city was dense with history and at the same time home to the most modern architecture and artworks. I re-visited place I had been before, but of course they had changed. Heraclitus said that you cannot step twice into the same stream. But Heraclitus did not simply say that the universe is moving and changing. He also said that we are changing with it. Indeed, I had changed since 1960 when I went to live in Europe as a young student.
