Electric Beings

TOO MUCH EXCITEMENT?? Electric Beings is about energy: heat (themo), electromagnetic, light, colors and eros. Here two people (and a cat) are dancing in a field of flaming colors and flying red-hot disks. In terms of anatomy, I've painted a few arteries and veins and lots of neurons.

In 1791, Luigi Galvani published his discovery of bioelectricity. He demonstrated that electricity was the medium by which nerve cells passed signals to the muscles.  The nervous system is essentially a biological information highway, and is responsible for controlling all the biological processes and movements in the body. It receives information and interprets it via electrical signals.

The nervous system runs on electricity, i.e. exchanges of electrons. Dragons flying in from the corners and blue crackling bolts of lightning certainly excite my nerves.

Water Animal Mandala

Perhaps you recall the dancing humans from my blog of October 12, entitled "how do you know," where I showed Water Animal Mandala. Although that is a painting of creatures that live under water, the brilliant yellow background gives the painting a not-very-watery feeling. It too has the "electric" quality of bright light shining in your eyes.
